NATAS
Just recently I have had the privilege of joining the National Association of Television Arts and Sciences. Being a part of this organization allows for me to do several things including attending workshops and seminars by industry leaders, go to film premieres, etc. Perhaps the benefit I am most excited about is that my work is now eligible for Chicago Emmy consideration.

LOS ANGELES
At the end of March I made a stop in LA where I was able to meet up with friends Lisa Callahan and Justin Lillge. I also had the pleasure of stopping by the Ha Ha Café to see comic Tom Clark perform. In addition I have to thank Mark Ebner and Pete Otto for having me on their nationally syndicated radio show, "Drastic Radio" on Comedy World. Anyone interested can tune in the show via www.comedyworld.com on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 3pm LA time (2pm - 5pm Chicago time). I also owe a big debt of gratitude to David Knapp and his Godson John for letting me stay at their place in the Hills.

HAWAII
April brought an eight-day trip to Hawaii (which explains the lateness of the newsletter). The original plans were to location scout and start production on a horror project, but that is in a state of suspended animation right now (more on that later). Big thanks go out to Chris Pry who acted as tour guide and second unit director-to-be.

HORROR PROJECT
The impending recession is far-reaching. Due to this Slim Pictures had to delay the start of shooting a feature-length horror film. The delay continued to the point that the project was too far behind schedule to shoot this year. On the up side if anyone is interested in purchasing a horror story and script, please leave a voice message on (847) ***-8610. We might possibly shoot in 2002, but we do want to leave our options open. If nothing happens, I want to make a point to thank Mary Czerwinski, Tony Michael Farmer, Adrian Garcia and Kelly Garcia for developing the project.

DOT COM
New Feature! The latest addition to the web site is a Slim Pictures Behind-the-Scenes Photo Gallery assessable from the Home Page. As of now there are only pictures from the location scouting trip to Hawaii, but soon there will be "making of" pictures from "The Property" and several other productions.

WEB SITE(S) OF THE MONTH
In my trip to LA I ran into a lot of people. To show my thanks for their hospitality I'm going to plug all of their sites (except for the Scientologists).
www.ComedyWorld.com - Extreme Internet radio with live video!
www.TheFortresshouse.com - Probably the best party house in the Hollywood Hills.
www.TomClark.com - The Bad Boy of Comedy.
