WRITING
After finishing a number of editing projects I was able to get back to
my favorite pastime; writing. In December I finished writing a treatment
for a non-genre realist drama titled "Nice Guys Finish Last."
The Second week of January saw the finish of the treatment for a half
hour long horror project that will begin production in
the Spring. Just recently I also finished writing a treatment for a romance
feature with the working title "Passion."
eBay TAKE ME AWAY!
Seeing as how I've been editing on a Mac G4 for the past
year, I've decided to unload all of my professional linear editing
equipment on eBay. There are literally thousands
of dollars of equipment available for probably way too cheap.
Surprisingly, bids are already coming in; the titler was sold after being
up for auction for just two hours! To get the complete
list of items up for sale simply go to Slim Pictures.com and click on
the eBay link.
VOICES FROM THE GRAVE
Over the past month and a half, producer Mary
Czerwinski and I have completed a number of trips to 17
haunted locations all over Northeast Illinois. You can come along
on one of the shooting days at the Voices from the Grave
section of the website. On January 11 we brought a group of people with
us on an all day trip to the South Side of Chicago where
we shot a half hour long infomercial which is nearly
finished being edited. Come see what locations are covered. There have
been a lot of updates to the web site over the past week, so if you haven't
checked it in a while, things have changed; everything from the Stand-up
Comedy section to the "Voices from the Grave"
photo gallery has been changed or updated.
PERSONAL
In mid February I will be attending the most technologically advanced
television school in existence; Columbia College in Chicago.
I've been looking forward to attending school here for quite some time,
but I got an extra boost of enthusiasm when I successfully wavered out
of my entire first semester of television classes due
to me work experiences. In other news, Slim Pictures now has a 24-hour
phone line. When it isn't answered by a person, the call will be routed
through voice mail. Voice mail will be on while on the set, late nights,
and when otherwise closed. That number is (847) ***-8610.
SITE OF THE MONTH:
While working with JPM Productions in 1999 I had the
extreme pleasure of working with actor Kevin
Wright. It wasn't until later that I learned that he is
a musician with a band in the Midwest that had been touring, winning awards,
and getting offered contracts. To look into The Brent James Band
