Record Your Own Comedy Album The reality of the situation is, every time you do a show and don't have something to sell afterwards, you're losing money. You've worked hard to perfect your craft and once you have an audience wanting to hear more, they will likely pay from $10 to $20 extra per person to take something home with them. What seperated comics like Richard Pryor and George Carlin from the rest of the pack in the '70s was their wildly popular and great selling comedy records. In every sense of the entertainment world, success is dictated by exposure. When someone buys your album and lends it to a friend, you've just expanded your fan base. The next time you come back to play that town, you'll have a bigger crowd waiting for you. The more people that know you by name, the more likely you are to fill up a comedy club. From there it only snowballs through word of mouth. Slim Pictures will also create your album design at no additional cost (front, back & side of the CD case as well as the printing on the CD itself). |
Create Your Own Comedy Video You now have the option of creating a video on VHS (video tape) or on DVD. With DVD you have a number of interesting options to spice up your video. Interactive menus, photo galleries, or room to include your own short films or other videos. For the most part, your videos are used for your own self-promotion to others in the industry rather than juse for making money for yourself (although one tends to lead to the other). Often videos we make are sent out my comics as a sort of demo reel to comedy club owners and bookers as well as agents, managers, and talent scouts. Anyone can set up a camcorder in the back of a club and hit the record button, but submitting something professional looking adds a sense of professionality and illustrates your comittment to succeeding in this cut throat industry. Of course selling a video tape or DVD is a possible way to reach out to more fans, much in the same way having your own comedy album can reach people. Now that you have a CD, video, and a growing fan base you need a way for people to keep informed with what is going on with you. There needs to be a way for any curious party to easily find out what your next live events are, as well as your next radio and television appearances. The best way to accomplish this is with a web site devoted specifically to you with an easy-to-remember name. For people who have never seen a show or even heard of you, we can take clips from your show and add them to your web site as audio or video files! The web site is also a great venue for people to purchase your comedy videos or albums with credit cards if they didn't have the money at the time they saw your show. As a bonus, if you do business with Slim Pictures, you will get free banner space to promote your comedy web site and you have the option of selling your products in our online store at no extra charge! |

Who has the patience to sit and watch a single uncut video
from a camera in the back of the room that doesn't move? Slim Pictures
offers a multi-camera, multi-show shoot. Cameras can be anchored, hand
held, on a dolly, getting audience reactions, shooting at unique angles, etc.
Have you ever daydreamed about having your own HBO Comedy Hour? Well,
if so, this is what it would look like.
* You even have the creative freedom to do more obscure things than the "typical." Picture Dennis Leary's "No Cure for Cancer" special. That special used cut-away shots filmed in black and white with a slower shutter speed. Those options and MANY more are open to you.
* We will travel to clubs all over the world.
* There are no travel charges for clubs in Northern Illinois, Los Angeles, California, or the Skyline Cafe in Appleton, Wisconsin! (depending on our schedule)
* Special rates and packaged deals are available on a person-to-person basis.
* Cutting shows down to smaller running times is very affordable! (Ex: you have a 45 minute tape, but a tv booker wants to see your best 7 minutes.)
