Robin de Praetere

Robin is a Belgium-based editor and the co-founder of FRAMES post-production in Brussels.

After studying at the renowned college RITC in Brussels, Robin went straight to work for the award-winning production company CZAR. His success was immediate as not only did his edit for the animated film, ‘Paradise’ get nominated at the Cannes Film Festival, but his first commercial, ‘Heaven’ by the directing duo Salsa, earned them the Young Directors Award at the Cannes Lions Festival.

Robin’s career went further from here as he became the most in-demand young editor for all the inhouse directors, creating a name for himself and winning many awards in the process. Working across so many projects and for so many different directors has made Robin an incredibly versatile editor, comfortable across a range of styles (this could explain his nickname, ‘Chameleon’). He has since channelled this into visual effects, adding another creative string to his bow. But what sets Robin apart from other editors is not just his versatility or his technical expertise, but his storytelling and creativity.

With such an impressive portfolio behind him, it was only a matter of time before Robin would branch out and set up his own post-production studio – which he did in 2022, joining forces with producer Jelle Robbeets to create FRAMES post-production.

When he isn’t at FRAMES, cutting in the edit room or creating mind-blowing VFX, you can find him underwater diving or sparring in the boxing gym to blow off some steam.
